Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is a classroom-based course designed to meet the 8 hours of EMSA child care training that includes Pediatric First Aid CPR and AED use. This American Heart Association course meets part of the EMSA regulatory requirements for child care workers in the state of California. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

The course covers the four steps of pediatric First Aid, CPR AED, and asthma care training, illnesses and injuries, child and infant safety checklist, how children act and tips for Interacting with them, CPR AED and Choking: CPR and AED for Adult, Children & Infant, How to Help a Choking Adult, Child & Infant.

The course is for those involved in child care that have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This audience includes child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations and coaches for children’s sports organizations. This course is also ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians.
